So, there is something (anything, really) coming towards you that eventually passes by you.
As it approaches you it can be described as 'coming at you'. As it distances itself from you it can be described as 'going away from you'.
The question:
At what point, precisely, does this thing cease to 'come at you' and begin to 'go away from you'?
